Children’s Museum

A North Carolina Nonprofit Corporation 501(c)(3)

The Madison County NC Rotary Foundation is seeking community input regarding the level of interest in a hands-on Children’s Museum in Madison County. This community input will help to guide its decision on whether to pursue this project. Please take the time to fill out our online questionnaire and/or attend one of our community listening sessions. The Madison County NC Rotary Foundation was formed by the Rotary Club of Madison County.

Mission:

To spark a passion for life-long learning by providing a place where children are encouraged to think for themselves and expand their problem-solving abilities through creative exploration and experiences.

Methodology:

Play is an essential part of a child’s “work.” Imaginative, hands-on exhibits provide children with opportunities to develop through play new abilities, building confidence, and making connections between their imagination, dreams, and real-world experiences.

Providing a variety of challenging direct experiences for children will help shape their growth and learning capabilities. Children would come to the Museum for stimulation, for education, for social interaction, and of course, for fun! The Museum would provide a place in Madison County with experiences for young children of all learning styles.

The goal is to give the children of Madison County a strong start in life and provide them with a space to cultivate their interests, give them a foundation for learning, and build confidence at a young age.

Time frame:

If approved, it is 3 to 5 years projected to the opening of the Museum.
